Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's children - was born at Woodland Hills, California in 1956. Her father taught school while her mother was a domestic worker. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick started dancing and singing in her early years and often performed puppet shows in front of children in her area. When she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 year old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see whether McCormick was interested in getting involved in the industry of entertainment. Her first major role came in 1964, which was when she appeared in a TV commercial for Mattels new Baby Pattaburp doll. A year later she appeared in the company's Chatty Cathy Doll and was immediately chosen to play her role in the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp And ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick, chosen from more than 200 auditioned kids, played the oldest of three double-headed daughters, in The Brady Bunch (1969), starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show lasted for five seasons. McCormick wrote in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published in 2008, McCormick told of how in the fifth season of the TV show, she was close to losing her the love of her life to her brother Barry Williams. In 2008, she revealed in her book, Here's the Truth: surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice that in season five on the show, she was close to losing her virginity to actor Barry Williams. This would have occurred according to her. But, the time for our relationship was not right.
