Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's kids - was born at Woodland Hills in 1956. Her father taught at school, as did her mother, who was a housewife. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her brothers older than her. McCormick began performing and singing from a young age. After winning the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 years old, Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see what she thought about getting involved in the industry of entertainment. McCormick's first job as a professional was in 1964 when she appeared in a television commercial featuring Mattels baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. The commercial was re-run in 1964 for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the lead role in Wind It up and It Breaks, a play at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the eldest daughter of the trio of towheaded girls in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a new blended family. It lasted five years. McCormick revealed in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick nearly lost her Virginity with Barry Williams during the five-year run in the series. In 2008, McCormick disclosed in her book, Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Identifying My True Voice that during the fifth season of the show she almost lost her virginity to Barry Williams. The incident could have occurred, she stated, but the time wasn't right for us.
